Candles make a great gift for just about every woman in your life.  You would be hard pressed to find a home without a candle, whether it was purely for decorative purposes or a scented candle to enhance a room.  That is why if you are ever short on gift ideas for a friend, family member or co-worker you can never go wrong with candles.   Not only is it a great gift that you know will get used, but it will not break the bank either. Before you go and buy a candle or candle set as a gift, you want to take a few things into consideration.

Scented Candles– scented candles are great and most people love them, however not every scent is pleasing to everyone.  Try and find out what particular scents they do or do not like or are perhaps really sensitive too.  There is nothing worse than giving a thoughtful gift only to find out they can’t or won’t use it.  If you are unsure of what type of scent to get them you can always buy an unscented candle.

Candle Colors – While you cannot go wrong with a generic white candle, try and get something tailored more towards their home décor or style.  If they wear a specific color often or have a theme throughout their home, give that some consideration as well.  If their home décor has a more romantic and subtle feel too it, buying some red, white or black candles would blend in nicely. You can even buy something with a little more personality like a black or red  metallic candle.

Type of Candle – Not all candles are created equal.  Some people like pillar candles, taper candles and others like small votive candles.  If you are unsure if they have specific candle holders for the type of candle you are buying them, you may want to consider buying a nice candle holder to go along with it.  If you are buying them black taper candles, then buying a silver candle holder will go nicely and will easily blend in to the surroundings.

Putting a little thought into the candle that you are buying will go along way.  If you buy them a candle in their favorite scent or style, it really shows that you pay attention to what they like.  If you want to make the gift a bit more personal, you can even decorate the candles yourself or decorate a candle holder.  If you are buying a set of candles adding a candle plate to go with the ensemble would be a nice touch.  You can easily decorate or personalize these in a variety of ways with simple things like glitter or ribbon.
