Step Outside The Box With Black Candles

I tend to think that black candles are so often over looked because they are usually thought of in relation to Halloween or perhaps in a time of mourning.  Black candles however can add a lot of personality to any candle decorations in your home.  They can help balance out or even add some boldness to the candle accents around your home and you can find plenty of cheap black candles. Here are a few examples of where adding a few black candles can spruce up your current décor.

Add a candle display to your guest or main bathroom.  Not only are candles a nice and inexpensive way to decorate, but they can match just about any style of décor.  If you have countertops that have black speckles, or perhaps are cultured marble, granite or tile with some variation of black in the hard surface, add a few white pillar candles with some accenting black candles.  It will add some boldness against the white candles and will bring together then candle ensemble and countertops nicely.

Most often people associate black candles with being eerie or dark spirited, when in reality they can be quite romantic or elegant when placed in the right ensemble.   You have to open up your decorative mind and add something new or unexpected.  If you have a more romantic theme in your bedroom and are using darker colors, like red for example, adding a few black pillar candles on the night stands or on a wall shelf is an inexpensive decoration.  For a romantic evening in, you can light those candles to add some warmth to the room to set the mood.

Whether you want simple tea light candles, pillar candles, or taper candles, adding a few black candles here and there can add a new element of style to your home.
